Job Summary:
Creates a welcoming, comfortable environment for customers in shop by providing fast and friendly service, quality products and a clean, safe store environment. Takes orders, prepares coffee and food, and collects payment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Greets and interacts with the customers.
2. Brews coffee, espresso, lattes, tea, and hot chocolate using coffee equipment, teapots, and other kitchen equipment.
3. Performs various duties to assist in filling customers’ orders, such as cooking soups and frozen commercial bakery products. ·
4. Serves high quality food and beverage items including coffee, soup, bakery products, tea, prepared sandwiches, beer and wine. ·
5. Accepts payment from customers for all items sold. ·
6. Keeps the store clean.
7. Cleans and polishes utensils and equipment used in food and beverage preparation.
8. Cleans tables as needed.
9. Operates cash drawer.
10. Complete all side jobs and any checklists.
11. Keep register and guest area clean.
12. Performs additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of food service experience, preferably in a coffee house environment. Completion of baristas trainee class, a credited sanitation course and possession of a beverage operator license is preferred or required shortly after employment.
Hours:
The coffee house hours are: Monday-Friday 6:30 am to 6:00 pm; Saturday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm; and Sunday 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Hours will be extended during the Summer. This position will require working some days, evenings and weekends.
