Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Education Manager in our Learning Department. This position will provide project and team management for developing and updating tax-related educational materials.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the work of the department. Establishes goals and objectives, develops work plans, assigns tasks, maintains schedules and coordinates activities. Monitors the timely completion of tasks, and ensures that goals and objectives are met. Drives the development of the team, coaches and motivates staff to ensure high productivity and quality, teamwork and increased group competency.
Organize, facilitate and participate in data gathering from multiple resources to collect information needed to analyze and define yearly tax law changes. Updates existing tax education courses and materials and identifies efficiencies to streamline current development processes.
Identifies current and pending tax law changes and develops new tax-related educational material in a variety of formats. Works with Learning Specialists to incorporate tax content in operations materials where appropriate. Incorporates field feedback and evaluates usage of materials on a regular basis to assist in planning.
Reviews the work of staff and provides feedback. Ensures department processes and standards are adhered to. Manages yearly maintenance of courses and researches available technologies to enhance department processes and procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent in education and experience (i.e. CPA or EA). Instructional Design or Education experience strongly preferred.
Experience/Requirements
5 or more years of relevant tax or individual tax return experience required.
At least 2 years of project and/or resource management experience required
Detailed knowledge of adult learning techniques, instructional design and distance learning methodologies.
Cursory understanding of Learning Management Systems a plus.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Leadership and motivational skills.
