This position is located at Naval Base Coronado.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) coordinates the design and delivery of sexual assault services to increase awareness and implements the expanded Sexual Assault Victim Intervention (SAVI) program. Coordinates sexual assault awareness and prevention education briefs and workshops to increase the understanding of what constitutes sexual assault, to reinforce that it is a crime, and to ensure that personnel know the full range of reporting options. Ensures that CO's, XO's, SAVI Command POC's and other key installation staff meet training requirements and fully understand the expanded SAVI program. Handles case record management and makes sure that the new restricted reporting requirements are properly executed. Collects and reports data and provides updates to victims. Conducts training and provides consultation for SAVI program staff and Victim Advocates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice or related social or behavioral science with one year's experience working with adolescent/adult sexual assault victims OR
Four years' experience working with adolescent/adult sexual assault victims
Social services program management experience
Experience in designing and conducting training for small and large groups; public speaking, presentation and facilitation skills
Other Skills:
FFSC has fully integrated technology into its service delivery model and all educators are expected to have or develop skill in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Power Point.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of family violence dynamics, sexual assault, local community resources, and federal and state laws pertaining to domestic violence, sexual assault and family law. Knowledge of the military, Department of Defense (DoD) and Family Advocacy Program (FAP).
Ability to develop program management plans and adhere to them. Ability to assess program effectiveness. Ability to maintain accurate statistical framework for program data collection and reports.
Ability to understand, be sensitive to, and have empathy for victims. Ability to develop trusting helping relationships and to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgement, ethical practice, and common sense.
Ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement, and legal personnel on behalf of victims.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled in the use of office software applications to prepare management reports and use software to develop information; able to enter data in required management reports.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and military regulations pertaining to victims of sexual assault.
All positions which require access to U.S. government facilities and systems require U.S. Citizenship.
