We have an exciting professional growth opportunity available for a Director of Projects and Technical Services for California and other western US project operations including the San Mateo and Los Angeles offices. Below are the primary responsibilities for this position:
Position Summary: The Director of Projects and Technical Services will have the responsibility of providing leadership and supervision of staff and all project related work for a wide range of renewable energy, traditional energy, water, and development projects. She/he will provide QA/QC for proposals, understand scopes of work and supervise the project managers developing all types of CEQA and NEPA documents. The Director of Projects and Technical Services will supervise interdisciplinary team members while managing project budget and schedules as well as consulting with client, subcontractors and public agencies on a regular basis. Below are the primary responsibilities:
Project Management and Business Oversight
· Manage and monitor project execution and Project Manager performance, including customer satisfaction, schedule compliance, and quality assurance
· Actively manage accounts receivables for the business unit
· Promote and facilitate compliance with company business procedures, including quality and contract compliance
· Support and advance company-wide goals and integrate office activities into the larger enterprise.
Resource Management
· Supervise project management and technical staff leading including recruiting, training, mentoring, and performance feedback to enhance quality client service and RMT business success.
· Facilitate the collaborative staffing of projects to maximize the performance of the entire enterprise
· Facilitate and directly coordinate with other locations and groups to identify and assign the right resource
· Encourage use of best practices from office/client experiences throughout the organization
· Monitor and direct non-billable labor to highest and best use
· Consistently and routinely communicate, and demonstrate by personal action, a commitment to RMT’s Achieving Safety Excellence (ASE) program and safety in the workplace.
· Ensure staff compliance with RMT policies and procedures through leadership by example.
· Actively participate in the monthly financial review process, including cost accounting and forecasting
· Promote and facilitate resource management practices that maximize the revenue generating potential of the enterprise
Financial Performance
· Collaboratively manage your operation to optimize the financial performance of the entire enterprise.
· Cost effectively manage the facility/unit (lease, utilities, field vehicles, indirect expenses, etc.).

Proven leadership and supervisory skills managing technical staff and administrative staff
