Portfolio Supervisor- Legal Loss Mitigation
Purpose and role of job
The Portfolio Specialist manages the people and operational high risk processes and procedures and is directly responsible for a team charged with minimizing corporate credit risk exposure.This position leads a team charged with providing a continual stream of ideas and executing strategies to transform the variables (Cash Flow and Liquidation) of the loss equation for a defined portfolio of mortgage assets.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Managing the people process (team of up to 8+ associates) (30%)
· Align portfolio team’s daily activities to Enterprise, Servicing, and Asset Disposition's strategies on high risk accounts.
· Interview and select associates for open positions, and fulfill the initial and on-going training and development of team members
· Provide performance feedback; identify training requirements; and provide coaching to direct reports.Inclusive of creation and co-development of personal development plans for each direct report.
· Partner with Learning and Development to evolve a new hire core curriculum andcontinuing development plans
· Work with the Portfolio Manager to identify and develop future Portfolio Team Leads
2. Managing the operations process (50%)
· Responsible for review and approval of loss mitigation strategies and disposition recommendations submitted by the Legal Case Manager and Loss Mitigation Specialist
· Assist with the creation of an operations structure capable of executing the strategy, including but not limited to data management, reporting, refining functional and technical processes, etc.
· Participate in presentations for investors, rating agencies, and other Servicing platform visitors.
· Meet individual and team goals to reduce minimize risk to the company and overall fees and costs within reasonable timelines optimizing use of Settlement and Release Agreements inclusive of all loss mitigation strategies.
· Insure Mediation Hearings are conducted professionally, timely and resulting in a agreed workout solution (Cash Flow and Severity) to curtail foreclosure timelines, fees and costs.
· Routine quality audit of loss mitigation transactions
· Continuously evolve efficient asset resolution options and departmental processes.
3. Managing the strategy process (20%)
· Take an active lead in strategy formation (e.g., participate on innovation councils) for transforming Frequency and Severity within their respective portfolio teams.
· Clearly communicate strategies to associates and other stakeholders
· Seek differentiation in process, product and people (e.g., our corporate Values, Mission and Objective with a strong emphasis on quality customercare).
Education and experience requirements
Education / Experience
· Minimum 4-year college degree, preferred major of Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience
· Paralegal Certificate a plus.
· Minimum 4 years mortgage banking or financial services experience or equivalent work experience
Other

· Management - planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing, monitoring and problem solving.
· Technical - understanding of the variables composing credit risk exposure, the external factors (such as legislation) impacting the processes, Servicing's business model and RCG's business model.
· Functional - understanding and linking the goals and priorities of each of the Servicing platform's functional areas
