Description:
Your primary goal will be to manage the Nursing Department to achieve and maintain the quality of healthcare that Kindred has become known for. You'll choose and develop your staff, be a born organizer and handle emergency situations with aplomb. You also realize that Nursing isn't just about medical care; it's about knowing your residents and fulfilling their needs.
Responsibilities: Develop, implement and evaluate programs to promote the recruitment, retention and continuing education of the nursing staff
Initiate studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services with regard to objectives and costs; develop the department budget, monitor expenses and stay within budget
Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues; proactively handle survey and/or standards of care issues
Ensure that adequate nursing staff are available, based on facility and census requirements
Ensure that annual competency evaluations and performance reviews are completed in a timely manner; participate in facility "Performance Improvement Program
