Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility and duty of the 24-hour Suzlon Monitoring Center (SMC) Technician is to provide Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation’s internal engineering, maintenance, and service teams with technical and operations-related assistance pertaining to the availability, performance, operation, and maintenance of wind turbine generators (WTG) and auxiliary systems on a 24-hour, rotating shift basis. 
 
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively monitor real-time operational status of all WTG’s in the North American, South American, and European regions on a 24-hour basis.
Understand and proactively identify abnormal operating and alarm conditions as they pertain to WTG operations.
Interpret and apply technical drawings, procedures, and other relevant documentation to resolve operational / reliability issues.
Effectively communicate technical information to SWECO customers, engineers, technicians, and site managers for the purpose of equipment reliability.
Assist engineering, field technicians, and site managers in root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of all domestic WTG faults.
Record and track WTG availability, performance, fault occurrence, root-cause analysis and troubleshooting exercises, and final resolutions as they occur.
Provide availability and general status reports to SWECO customers, engineers, technicians, and site managers as required
Support daily meetings by supplying 24-hr synopsis of the previous day’s activity to inform the service organization of fleet issue.s and current projects.
Assist in presenting detailed customer-orientated information on the functions of the monitoring center and related software capabilities.
Perform other such duties as required by SWECO management.
 
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the creation of troubleshooting documentation and root-cause analysis tools.
Review monitoring center operations and provide recommendations for improvement on all policies, procedures, operations, and technical issues.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.
Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Individual must have earned an Associate’s degree in Technology from an accredited college or university; or have at least five (5) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Individual must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
Individual must have the ability to effectively author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Individual must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Individual must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions as they pertain to practical situations.
Individual must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Individual must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle several abstract and concrete variables.
Individual must be knowledgeable of database software; project management software; spreadsheet software and word processing software; electronic mail; graphics; technical diagrams; flow charts, etc.
Individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet (data acquisition and predictive modeling system experience is a plus).
