Job Summary:
We currently have an opening for a Medical Director in our Parsippany, New Jersey location. This position directs and manages the Clinical Research Program for a new platelet inhibitor. This position ensures the coordination and interaction of all important functions within the development organization, and develops protocols for the Phase IIIb/IV programs in consultation with marketing and outside experts, and builds the image of the company as a partner in research projects.
Responsibilities:
In this position you will develop new, innovative clinical trials in consultation with internal and external stakeholders. You will draft Clinical Trial Outlines, Clinical Trial Protocols, Case Report Forms, Informed Consent Forms and other documents as needed to support clinical trials. You will implement clinical trials, acting as Medical Monitor and the Sponsor’s medical representative to CROs and AROs, PIs, SCs, core laboratories and other organizations involved in the implementation of clinical trials. You will provide and manage a budget for Phase IIIb/IV clinical development program for a compound. You will review the scientific and medical value of proposals for new clinical development studies. You will provide medical expertise by reviewing manuscripts, educational materials, medical letters, marketing and other materials for medical accuracy and appropriate content. You will plan, coordinate, and edit publications of clinical research trials. In addition, you will draft and review materials for medical accuracy including promotional materials, manuscripts and abstracts, medical letters and slide decks.
Education/Experience
Qualified candidate must have a Medical Degree. Board certification in Cardiology is preferred. You must have a minimum of 3 years working knowledge in the cardiac therapeutic area; exposure to the marketing/business side of pharmaceuticals and full understanding of Phase IIIb/IV Drug Development. A minimum of 1 year of pharmaceutical/CRO industry experience is preferred, including experience in medical supervision of design, implementation and analyzing clinical trials.
