DESCRIPTION:
Qualified candidates for this position will be capable of providing support and expertise to the solar test department. Support activities include: process monitoring, improve test capability, improve test reliability, maintain all test related work documentation, and maintain all test equipment and peripherals. Support includes both space and terrestrial cell, receiver, and solar panel testing.
The candidate will be working closely with cross-functional groups to provide feedback analyses to optimize solar cell performance and reliability.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related science field Strong knowledge in device physics
Knowledge of optics fundamentals
Data collection and analysis experience
Experience with test and measurement of photovoltaic devices
Ability to work with Oscilloscopes
Attention to detail
Strong communication and documentation skills
Familiarity with standard semiconductor fab tools and equipment
Sensitivity to precision and repeatability.
Programming in Labview, VB, VB.NET, and C is a plus
Photovoltaic experience is a plus
At least 5 years related experience
Familiar with a variety of solar cell fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures
Strong statistical analysis skills
Experience with probe testing technology is a plus
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing process
Own the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customer.
Verify that products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures, test software, and completes test specifications and test procedures for new and sustaining products.
Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment
Determines inputs to project schedules and guides project work to completion, managing his or her time as well as the activities of technician(s)
Analyzes data to prove process and test system capability, reports to management on a regular basis for the health of the test system, provides data to be disseminated to customers and critical internal quality systems
Leads documentation of test systems, test fixtures, test software, and calibration specifications and algorithms
