As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and Officer on the U.S. Army Health Care Team, your surgical skills will allow you to do more than restore the smiles of our Soldiers and their Families. Requirements include:
- A Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.), Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) or a combination Doctor of Dental Surgery/Doctor of Medicine (D.D.S./M.D.) degree from an ADA-accredited dental program in the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or Canada
- Completion of an Advanced Specialty Education Program in oral and maxillofacial surgery that is accredited by the American Dental Association and acceptable to the Surgeon General
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (health care professionals ages 43 to 60 are now eligible for a two-year service contract under the OAPP program)
- License to practice dentistry
- U.S. citizenship
