QUALITY MANAGER / PROJECT MANAGER – PITTSBURGH, PA DISTRICT OFFICE
Orbital Engineering,® Inc., a dynamic and growing engineering and design firm with offices in Pittsburgh, PA, Bensalem, PA, Hammond, IN, and Toledo, OH has a Quality Manager / Project Manager position available for a motivated, ambitious and goal oriented individual to join our Pittsburgh District Office.
Discipline:
Multi-discipline: Civil/Structural Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Electrical Engineering
Projects: heavy industrial/consulting environment.
Required Skills:
This position requires the candidate to perform in dual roles. As Quality Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the corporate Quality Management System. As Project Manager, the candidate will be responsible for managing larger, multi-discipline projects in the Pittsburgh office. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and/or training in QA/QC programs, and at least 5 years of engineering project management experience, preferably in the petroleum, chemical, power, manufacturing and steel industries. Knowledge or training in ISO 9000 quality management systems, and/or PMP certification is a plus. Responsibilities include: Quality Manager: writing procedures and standards, development of project control systems, performing quality audits, maintaining the Quality Management System, reviewing and supporting QA efforts on projects. Project Manager: oversight of technical design development, cost estimating, proposal and report preparation, meetings, preparation and monitoring of budgets & schedules, status reporting, implementation of Quality Management Procedures on projects. Industrial design experience and ability to manage large engineering projects or several small multi-discipline design projects concurrently as well as the ability to perform constructability reviews for engineering design. The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to maintain client relationships.
Required Education:
BSME, BSCE, and/or BSEE are preferred.
Desired Skills:
PE registration is preferred. ISO 9000 training, and/or PMP certification are a plus, Construction management experience, consulting firm experience.
