Description:
Manage and execute the formal footwear product process within an assigned category. Product Creation: · Manage the product creation process. · Develop seasonal line plans and make day-to-day product decisions alongside design and development counterparts with respect to initial line planning, final application of color and pricing in cross-merchandising the line. · Manage the confirmation process to ensure products in the line meet the needs of the consumer and key accounts as outlined in the product brief. Product Pricing: · Responsible for the seasonal pricing and structure of assigned lines and accountable for gross margin profitability in line with corporate and departmental goals. Assist with the US and International Merchandise Managers in the pricing process and work with Product Director to finalize prices. Quarterly Assortment Planning: · Manage the development and updating of assortment plans on a seasonal basis. Coordinate color-up and stand-alone plans with merchandise team including US and global managers, account sales managers, Category Business Director. Product Briefing and Presentation: Provide design and development and merchandising with visual and factual cues to motivate and inspire them in the product process through formal presentations and/or on-going informal interaction with the design and development team from line conceptualization to confirmation process.
· Ensure product and stories are communicated and meet the needs of the consumer and Key Accounts as outlined in the product brief. · Responsible for the presentation of the assigned product lines to Accounts and account executives as needed (i.e. Sales Meetings). Ultimately responsible for what arrives in market and its profitability. Retailer & Consumer Interaction: · Manage the consumer insight process. Establish the link to the business, and develop the relevant strategies to maximize the business. · High degree of retailer interaction and awareness alongside the Product Director to meet the product needs of the Global Marketplace. · Interact directly with retailers especially during pre-lines, market visitations, events and/or focus groups to gain insight that can be interpreted into new innovations, products and concepts. Lead team trips and reporting and project updates which will be communicated to Business Director.
