Description:
Structural Engineer - Product Development/Design
A growing, innovative, leading edge, and technology driven manufacturer of eco-friendly structural and architectural building systems is currently seeking a PE certified Structural Engineer to join its team!
This individual will play a critical role in the continual improvement of existing products and the development of new products and systems. This person will draw on a strong structural engineering and technical background to address all structural and architectural aspects and performance characteristics of the products. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities ranging from building test specimens and test setups to interfacing with product accreditation agencies and design teams. The person must be an innovative, critical thinker with the ability to manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously and possess the ability to consistently and accurately apply statistical, scientific, and design methodologies in a wide range of applications.
Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering (MS preferred). Candidate must have 4-6 years structural engineering experience in design, research, and/or product development. Candidate must be familiar with current building codes as well as ASTM and other material and test standards. Knowledge of concrete properties, materials/components, and mix design; familiarity with precast concrete manufacturing and construction. Ability to design cold formed steel and concrete structures; Ability to design and detail using AutoCAD; Critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced work environment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Position requires PE License (California preferred).
Position requires individual to travel to testing labs in both Southern California and out of state.
