No third party submittals Position Description: This is a well funded domestic start-up developing innovative scalable greentech energy storage systems. This is a ground floor opportunity to contribute your theoretical mechanical engineering design skills including engine design, DFM and mathematical modeling in challenging technical projects that will have a significant positive impact on global warming in what is projected to be a $100 Billion market. You will be working with a small group of highly intelligent physicists and engineers working on practical problems for commercial products. Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for contributing to the group their skills and abilities in the areas of theoretical and practical design of engines, pistons/seals, and/or air compressors. System design should be based on engineering principles, not just working with vendors to specify components. Design for manufacturability in the design of these products is required. T Work with the team through the design development, prototyping and subsequent manufacturing processes. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: A minimum of a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a PhD preferred A minimum of 5 years of hands-on design experience with engines, pistons/seals and/or air compressors. Experience may include hydraulics, pneumatics and experience with multiphase (gas/fluid) flows. Skills will also include theoretical design, mathematical modeling and design for manufacturability. Highly creative and innovative - self-motivated and able to work effectively with a highly skilled team. Good communication and presentation skills as well as being very computer literate. Experience with or knowledge of power systems ranging from 100KW to 2 MW would be highly desired.
