The Green Package is the end result of the daily collection and validation of tens of thousands of pieces of market data (such as end of day prices, index positions, and security indicative information), the creation of complex economic and analytical models, the calculation of millions of risk measures at the security and portfolio level, their aggregation and summarization into thousands of reports – all of which lets portfolio managers know, at a glance, their exposure to changes in the global markets – from the highest to the most detailed level. Our group creates, maintains, and enhances the technical infrastructure to produce the Green Package across all internal and external clients. We design and develop the end-to-end production processes, provide intelligent quality checks on the data, risk analytics and reports, and continually re-engineer and optimize our processes to accommodate BlackRock’s rapid growth. Develop enhancements and new features for the Green Package production process
Investigate daily issues and provide support to colleagues as a subject matter expert
Automating quality checks and controls on incoming vendor data, as well as internally generated proprietary analytics
Understanding, improving, and documenting our production processes
Additional responsibilities (design, project management) to follow based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills and interests
Requirements: A Bachelors or Masters degree with a technical discipline. Finance/Economics concentration a plus
A minimum GPA of 3.5 and combined SAT score of 1350 or better is required
Poficient in UNIX, SQL, C++/Java, Perl
Good communications skills – both written and verbal
Knowledge of finance and economics is a plus
Previous experience working on large/complex projects is a plus
