Duties
Develop and manage design and development programs for propeller systems for manned and unmanned aircraft. Apply propeller design and development protocols, processes, best practices and lessons learned to new designs and component improvement programs for legacy aircraft. Review hardware failure data and plan and coordinate design activities to improve performance, durability and/or reliability to meet customer requirements. Act as the point of contact and technical expert in dealing with contractors and other government activities on the technical aspect of all matters pertaining to the Research and Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) efforts of assigned propeller system programs. In the majority of instances, the incumbent will be personally required to initiate and complete tasks involving the disciplines of engineering mechanics, material science and relevant analytical techniques. About 25% travel is anticipated for this position.
Qualifications
BS Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience in aviation propeller design or test and evaluation. Secret Clearance. Ability to generate propeller system RDT&E requirements for Naval Aircraft. Ability to generate detailed design requirements and success criteria.
