PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Parent Support Program Home Visitor (NPSP) provide ongoing support services and promote healthy family life through referrals, screening and assessment, home visitation and educational training utilizing the Nurturing Parent curriculum; during the prenatal period and extending up to the child’s third birthday. Provide all clients with information and referrals regarding available military and community resources that will empower/assist clients in meeting the program goals. Participate in standardized record keeping and quality assurance protocols for NPS. Maintain case files in accordance with program policies and procedures utilizing FFSMIS, which compiles statistics, documents work, and gather program data. Collect and assimilate data for monthly reports. Report known or suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect to Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and Child Protective Services (CPS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Nursing, and or related field with specialization in Child Development.
Licensure:
Nurses must maintain state licensure or certification
Experience:
Three years’ experience in the field of maternal/child health, child development and/or public health
Other Skills:
We have fully integrated technology into our service delivery model and all candidates are expected to have or develop skill using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Power Point
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional experience working with military families or personal military lifestyle experience
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and possess strong interpersonal communication skills necessary to relate to children and adults from varied backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Maintain confidentiality of program information obtained from home visit and exchanged while communicating with community and support service providers
