Business background:
Dreyer’s “Go to Market” model is built around Direct Store Distribution (DSD) which is the core competitive advantage of our business model. Dreyer’s operates one of the few coast-to-coast, largely company-owned DSD systems in the U.S. The system is highly people-intensive, and is leveraged to yield both higher penetration than our competitors and also better in-store merchandising and performance. Dreyer’s is at inflection point in the growth of this system. To achieve our strategic goals, we will need to drive substantially more profit leverage through a rapid expansion of small-store and impulse reach and step-function change in the use of sophisticated DSD productivity techniques.
Position description:
Dreyer’s Sales and Operations function comprises the field DSD Sales organization, the national accounts sales group, central supply chain operations, technical support functions, and our information systems function. The GTM Project Manager is responsible for providing the technical skills, experience and implementation of our future route systems that will drive productivity in our DSD system. This position will be accountable to represent and support the GTM team initiatives with other Oakland based cross-functional leadership teams. The GTM team develops initiatives around route design, compensation design, continuous productivity improvement, performance reporting and other profit building activities. These objectives will be accomplished by understanding capabilities within the Nestlé organization as well as external benchmarks across other DSD companies. In conjunction, the GTM Program Manager will have direct responsibility to incorporate Nestlé Continuous Excellence processes into our design. Strong background in “Lean” or “Six Sigma” processes required. Heavy emphasis on data collection, interpretation, and extrapolating conclusions from said data.

The principal responsibilities and scope of this position include:

Partner with the DSD field Sales teams to understand capabilities and opportunities to improve DSD profit requirements.
Coordinate with and support the field GM’s and GTM Change Leaders to ensure understanding and buy-in for effective implementation of initiatives.
Benchmark and understand the capabilities of other DSD companies as well as other Nestlé organizations.
Support/evaluate the ROI of potential new thought solutions as they relate to the DGIC system.
Use the ROI process to help DGIC prioritize potential solutions.
Strategize and test long-term solutions of the DSD system.
Facilitate the “Best Practice” learning sessions (Kaizen) for various job types.

Extensive and demonstrable leadership in a national recognized DSD environment.
Strong project skills to include experience in substantive system implementations.
Solid strategic planning and implementation skills. Success requires broad insight and follow-through about systemic changes required to increase profitability.
Demonstrable process orientation.
Proven capability to influence cross functionally through strong communication skills and collaboration.
Extensive experience and understanding of “in-store” processes and environment with a DSD focused organization.

10+ years of progressive and diverse experience in systems and processes related to distribution within a customer-centric, Direct Store Delivery focused organization.
