Description:
Manager of the Product Management Development Program. Owns the overall recruiting and development strategy. Works jointly with peers to develop and execute the entry level talent management plan across Product Management. Owns management of the talent pipeline and effective development of analyst via a partnership with the Technical Training function. Accomplishes development strategy through state level P&L responsibilities. Develops and recommends product line and operational strategy. Advises senior management regarding risk levels and recommends target profitability goals for each state. Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for the identification, recruitment and development of college level analytical talent into the Product Management Development Program with the objective to build a foundation of the skills required for successful advancement in Personal Markets, including analytical, project management, pricing, communication, technical, and industry specific knowledge.
Directs workflow through the Development Program team based on state manager P&L strategic game plan, and state priorities.
Oversees state pricing analysis for Development Program states, including completion of pricing and dislocation models by analysts. Drive knowledge transfer of state pricing to Development Program analysts.
Monitor and interpret leading indicators; respond to changes in key metrics and drive actions designed at meeting or exceeding growth and profit objectives in overall support of department P&L responsibilities.
Directs the implementation of technological and process improvement solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of PM Development Program processes and programs, with an overall goal of improved speed to market.
Ensures on time implementation of state rate plan. Quality control of state reviews to confirm the proper application of underwriting and rating rules and guidelines, and ensures practices are in compliance with Product Management standards, insurance laws, and regulations.
Owns annual state planning process for Development Program states.
Recommend appropriate course of action in response to market or regulatory changes.
Responsible for monitoring and controlling expenses throughout the year for the department's budget
Coordinate efforts with the Assistant Manager, who is responsible for driving tactical aspects of the department.
