My client - a major distributor is seeking an experienced Credit professional for the position of Regional Credit Manager headquartered in Washington Metropolitan area providing service for 19 distribution centers throughout Maryland and Northern Virginia. The qualified candidate will assist with creating continuing improvement and extending best practices throughout the organization.

Essential Duties:
The position of Regional Credit Manager is responsible for leading the Credit Department. The position creates and enforces Credit Policy and Procedure as guided by our corporate directives. It is responsible for creating continuous improvement and extending best practices throughout the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
. Extend credit to customers in accordance with company policies.
. Monitor and update Credit information to existing customer base;
. Manage AR portfolio through direct involvement with customers and internal resources;
. Manage Credit Staff to maximize efficiency and morale in fast paced environment.
. Negotiate and secure arrangements for payment with delinquent accounts;
. Minimize bad debt while helping the company maximize profitable sales.
. Travel required to meet customers and branch personnel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred;
. Minimum 7 years experience in credit and collections;
. Previous experience in building materials distribution or construction industry a plus; experience in a multi-state, multi-location environment also a plus;
. Strong Mechanics Lien and Bonding experience preferred;
. Must have prior experience and be competent with MS Office products, AS400, Internet and Outlook programs. General computer literacy is required;
. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiating skills;
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
. Basic accounting and finance knowledge is required;
. Must be a US citizen or be authorized to work in the United States;
. Must pass company required drug test.
