Description:
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Minimal Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science with a strong engineering background or BS degree in CE, EE or AE with a strong software background and 5 years prior military simulation experience. Key skills necessary to define requirements, analyze, design, implement, integrate, and verify large complex software systems. This includes mathematical modeling, software engineering, and hardware integration skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Prior military simulation background is required with thorough knowledge, understanding, and experience in military organizations and structures as they operate in a simulation environment. Candidate must have experience in current maneuver and LVC Doctrine and the employment on systems in a live or virtual and constructive training simulation environment. Candidate must have experience with simulation software and models including One Semi- Automated Forces (OneSAF), DIS, HLA and TENA products. Candidate must be experienced in supporting training exercises and be familiar with PEO-STRI GSA customer. Candidate must have excellent computer skills (C, C++, etc) and be proficient in MS Office Suite. Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently. Previous experience preparing and coordinating requirements, conceptual designs, decision papers, fact sheets and briefing slides is required. Candidate must be able to develop and formulate budgets and operate as a Project Manager if needed. Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET or below clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with Army Battle Command systems, After Action Review (AAR) systems, CACCTUS or other LVC systems are desired. A Game Technologies background and experience with GUI development, User Interface Design, and Human Factors are also a plus.
Job Duties:
Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Simulation Engineer responsible to design and develop real-time man/operator-in-the-loop simulation, models and support software for the purpose of conducting LVC training activities. Also, the candidate will participate as part of a dynamic team of technical experts for the development, integration, and application of live, virtual and constructive simulation capabilities.
