Who are we looking for?
Gartner Greetings Inc. is looking for a Director of Operations to be part of our greeting card retail business. This person must have an in depth knowledge and experience in the consumer retail business. Exhibit strong leadership, management, team building and problem solving skills. Have a passion of growing sales and controlling cost. Proven decision-making skills and the ability to hold others accountable. Working Experience with forecasting and inventory management programs, balance sheets, P&L, and sales margins. Ability to provide strategic planning, both long and short term.
The following are essential job accountabilities:
• Maintenance and accuracy of data in MRP/ERP system (input and issuance from inventory, labor reporting, startup of RFQ and quoting modules, etc.) • Forecasting • Purchasing • Order fulfillment • Management of inventory control to meet turns goals • Management of new product integration • Prioritize, plan and track project(s) progress • Understanding lead times • Tracking of daily/monthly/yearly sales statistics by channel. Prepare reports as needed. • Develop and maintain relationships with supply vendors as needed. • Manage all inventory movement and database accuracy including inventory adjustments, physical counts, and new product within the inventory database. • Timely resolution of operational issues between GGI and its partners • Overall management of electronic management system and other external suppliers to meet GGI customer needs and quarterly revenue goals. • Research and analyze areas of interest to the company which will allow the company to gain a competitive advantage • Monitor internal and external environments for development of new business processes • Participate in management meetings related to intelligence reporting • Implement the recommendations of intelligence reporting and management • Development and implementation of operations and administrative processes and systems to insure streamlined interactions between GGI and its partners • Interaction with GGI Sales and Finance to insure operational alignment and performance standards to meet corporate goals and customer needs • Provide status reporting to BI Director and CEO
Key Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years experience in business intelligence, forecasting, planning and inventory control • Minimum 5-7 years experience in retail operations with progressive levels of responsibility • Prior experience working for a major sku intensive consumer company • Prior domestic production experience and overseas sourcing a plus • Related experience and/or training in supply chain management preferred • High level of understanding of retail business plan-o-grams • High level of competency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Applications • Proven ability to work in fast paced environment while juggling multiple competing tasks and demands
