Company Job Title: Senior IT Specialist (CASE)Chenega Job Title: Specialist V, Info TechnologyClearance: SecretLocation: Fort Meade, Maryland Reports To: Program ManagerFLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt Prepared Date: 10/1/2009 Approved Date: 10/1/2009Summary: Serve as information technology (IT) specialist/computer operator on several large-scale current generation computer systems, which operate in a multi-function environment covering modus operandi (i.e., a nationwide teleprocessing network, various modes of data entry, retrieval operation, batch processing, and interactive data processing).Serve as the AWG Enterprise Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Enterprise Information Assurance Manager (IAM), responsible for establishing, managing, and assessing the effectiveness of the Information Assurance program command-wide in accordance with AR-25-2, AR 380-19 and DA PAM23-IA. Maintains liaison with DISC4, DISA, NETCOM, LIWA, ACERT, regional supporting RCERT, supporting Theater Network Operations Center. Must be able to travel to locations worldwide in order to facilitate web-based assistance and information exchange capabilities. Irregular hours may be associated with this position. A valid US Passport may be required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.1. Establish and maintain full information management flow process. Provide training to AWG unit personnel on all information management solutions. 2. Provide direct communication from the AWG to the primary information technology team, web developers, database administrators, and software personnel, in order to facilitate and translate initiatives in a prompt time frame. 3. Develop solutions to complex issues within required time frame, which is usually 72 hours. 4. Possess technical ability to make on-site changes to the webpage when developers are not available. 5. Provide monthly information briefings, to include metrics concerning courses of action regarding existing, current, and future information technology applications and solutions that have potential to better facilitate information exchange. 6. Monitor the operation/performance of systems that are integral configurations where Input Output devices are shared with multiple CPUs; monitor the system to identify problem conditions that will not respond to normal operator intervention methods; run diagnostic software routines to determine the operating integrity of the systems(s); realign equipment interconnections, 7. Isolate and identify the source and nature of system software/hardware problems and act as an intermediary between vendor representatives/computer specialists and the user regarding significant hardware/software malfunctions. 8. Analyze problems and take action or recommend solutions that will assure continuity of operations to the maximum extent.9. Supervise, install, operate, administer, and maintain information processing systems, peripheral equipment, and associated auxiliary devices.10. Familiar with the configuration, troubleshooting, installation, operation, and maintenance of Cisco Call Manager or a similar Internet Protocol Telephone system. 11. Be familiar with interfacing WAN devices with terrestrial and satellite circuits, components, systems, and hardware. 12. Be able to troubleshoot automation equipment and system to a degree required for isolation of malfunctions to specific hardware or software and then restore equipment to operation. 13. Should be familiar with installing, configuring, operating, and performing hardware strapping on various NSA Approved network Cryptologic devices. 14. Draft associated technical documentation for reference and maintenance purposes of various information processing equipment and systems. 15. Modify existing information processing systems using applications and operating system software and appropriate computer language commands or files. 16. Be familiar with Web Portal development, implementation and modification. 17. Participate in the development and implementation of a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).18. Participate in the development and implementation of a Knowledge Management Plan (KM). 19. Conduct quality assurance Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) operations and equipment.20. Ensure compliance with applicable DoD directives governing Signal Security (SIGSEC), Operating Security (OPSEC), and Communications Security (COMSEC), and physical security of all information technology equipment, networks, systems, and processes. 21. Learn how to install, configure and administer various Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) automations productions and software applications unique to military missions. 22. Perform software and firmware upgrades, patches, and applications updates to all information technology equipment, systems, and applications. 23. Perform Information Assurance (IA) procedures to include data backup and recovery procedures.24. Responsible for protecting all IT assets, systems, networks, and data/information. Evaluates network and Information System/Information Assurance requirements and shortfalls in order to provide policy, procedural, and technical guidance to support Information Assurance program objectives.25. Establishes and manages the command's Information Assurance Program. 26. Promulgates Information Assurance Program policy throughout the command, to include developing command-unique guidance as required. 27. Establishes procedures within the command to document the status of all Information Systems accreditation, level of concerns, and protection levels. 28. Establishes and manages information assurance reporting and compliance procedures, to include responses to security alert notifications. 29. Ensures that Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) are received and responded to in a timely matter. 30. Ensures command compliance with established Army and DoD network information assurance policies. 31. Provides guidance to the AWG S6 on all security aspects of system development efforts.32. Review periodically the status of all information systems and/or networks. 33. Review threat and vulnerability assessments to analyze the risk to the Information Systems, and networks and determine appropriate measures to effectively manage those risks. 34. Implements the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) program and site based accreditation. 35. Reviews risk analysis and accreditation documentation for timeliness, completeness and accuracy and insure that all necessary materials are forwarded with a recommendation for approval/disapproval to the Designated Accreditation Authority. 36. Publishes the Network Security Architecture Plan and Policy for operations of the AWG networks.37. Validates and updates the Information Assurance Defense Depth program t include firewalls, intrusion detection system and other hardware and software solutions required in the program to protect AWG information. 38. Conducts vulnerability assessments of networks/information systems to identify security shortfalls.39. Conducts information assurance surveys and scans to be determine compliance with the command's Information Assurance program, and reports results of inspections to the S6. 40. Oversee an Information Assurance training program, which integrates information assurance into operational training programs for AWG members, system administrators, users, and maintenance personnel. 41. Maintains training and certification records for information assurance training.42. Conducts the investigation of cryptographic security violations including preparing reports of finds.43. Drafts policies, develops software and controls to ensure appropriate levels of Information Assurance. Typical protection measures include, full access controls of software and physical safeguards and personnel and visitor control at central and remote sites. 44. Develops or acquires systems software tools and support services for the assignment and management of passwords, and uses identification and other software security mechanisms. 45. Reviews and evaluates exiting software and procedures and provides methods for reporting and correcting network security violations or breakdowns. 46. Identifies implementation and oversight plans to ensure compliance with requirements.47.
