Applies scientific knowledge and expertise to project research and evaluates the effectiveness of specific methods and procedures as they relate to specific scientific projects. Conducts research and provides quantitative and qualitative analysis for projects, proposals and presentations for the company and its customers. Provides research support to senior research and program management staff as needed. May lead large projects and provide leadership to other scientific and technical staff.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position1. Provides guidance and training to Environmental Techs and waste handlers.Conducts environmental compliance inspections. Interacts with installation personnel to prevent non-compliances with local, State and Federal regulations. 2. Executes and helps to manage Environmental programs. Provides guidance and oversight for programs such as environmental compliance, conservation, and pollution prevention. Conducts customer orientation and training courses as required. Provides technical expertise in emergency hazardous material/wastes response actions. 3. Maintains tools, equipment, and facilities. Ensures correct use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and tools. Maintains facilities, equipment, and storage areas in accordance to compliancerequirements. 4. Plans and coordinates activities. Identifies and acquires specialized equipment. Surveys and inspects activities such as facilities, accumulation point compliance, and pollution prevention opportunity assessments.Maintains historical databases, tracking systems, and profile sheets.Prepares and analyzes reports, and recommends corrective actions. As required will conduct research to identify and abate or eliminate sources of pollutants that affect people, wildlife, and their environments. Analyze and report measurements and observations of air, water, soil, and other sources and make recommendations on how best to clean and preserve the environment.Understanding the issues involved in protecting the environment-degradation, conservation, recycling, and replenishment, use skills and knowledge to design and monitor waste disposal sites, preserve water supplies to comply with Federal environmental regulations. Spending time performing research or learning about environmental laws and regulations. Ordering required documents, labels, supplies as needed for operations. Supporting management for HSRP and providing feedback and input as needed and required.4. Helps to maintain Daily/Weekly Inspection Logs for the Hazardous Waste(HW) Accumulation Pad, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Maintains a clean and neat work area at all time.5. Performs all assigned tasks in a safe manner; maintain compliance with all Army, NTC, federal, state, and local hazardous material and hazardous waste regulations related to operations of the P2 Disposition Facility and Hazmart, along with logistics requirements.
