Company Job Title: TrainerChenega Job Title: Trainer IVLocation: Lorton, VAReports To: Training ManagerFLSA Status: Full-time, ExemptSummaryTrainers provide instructional support on a variety of non-intrusive inspection equipment to the Enforcement Technology Program and Repair (ETP) program for Customs personnel. Trainers will be expected to develop training materials using the Instructional System Design (ISD) model. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position1. Participate in and instruct on a variety of non-intrusive inspection equipment to include X-ray and gamma imaging systems, vapor tracers, radiation detection and identification, density gauges, etc.2. Support and assist other team members with training materials preparation, objectives, and classroom delivery preparations. 3. Assist with research, curriculum development and revisions of training materials to include instructor manuals and student manuals and handouts. 4. Assist with needs assessments.5. Lectures classes on safety, installation, programming, machinery and equipment following outlines, handouts and texts.6. Perform other ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned.SupervisionNoneMinimum QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and/or Experience• Bachelor's degree in training and development or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.• 11-14 years experience directly related hands-on adult training experience.• Previous experience must include facilitating various technical training courses. • Knowledge of training methodologies including the application of training principles, concepts, practices, and standards is critical.• Must be able to assimilate new material quickly and work effectively in the field individually or as part of a team. • Must be able to make sound and reasonable decisions, have good customer service skills, and able to adapt to changing work environments and schedules.• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.Computer SkillsMicrosoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint at intermediate levelCertificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance: • Treasury BI• Valid driver's license• On the job training: 8-hour Radiation Safety class, 40-hour Radiation Safety Officer training, DOT and NRC Requirements for Shipping and Receiving Radioactive Materials class, 16-hour Radiation Safety Officer.Other Notes• 50-60% travel is required.• Course length is typically 1-5 days.• Courses are taught at US Ports across US and Canada.• Courses consist of both classroom and hands-on training so a significant portion of time may be spent outdoors in uncontrolled environment.Chenega Corporation is an EOE.
