POSITION PURPOSE
Brief summary of the primary purpose or overall role of the job.
Investigators effectively conduct investigations and surveillance of trading practices and apply those skills to correlate complex financial audit trail and market data as well as audio, video and documentary evidence to assess compliance with Exchange rules in both electronic and open out-cry markets.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The essential functions of the job, written in order of priority.
1. Investigates routine cases with limited assistance from Senior Investigators or other senior management. Completes such investigations in a timely fashion.
2. Writes clear, accurate and logical investigation reports and memoranda that meet the department style and form conventions. Submits written work product in final or near-final form that does not require major editing or rewriting.
3. Conducts research and trade analysis of assigned markets with limited assistance from Program administrators
4. Schedules, prepares for and conducts or, where appropriate, assists senior investigators in conducting effective interviews in a timely, thorough and professional manner.
5. Demonstrates industry knowledge in fashioning interview questions that fairly and thoroughly cover the subject matter.
6. Assists Senior Investigators in complex cases.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of CME Rules in all aspects of job, including interviews and written work product.
8. Participates in special projects as assigned, including team investigations.
9. Insures proper and timely notice and staff support for meetings and hearings.
10 Efficiently uses computer applications and forms.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelors Degree
Minimum: 1 – 3 Years experience. Knowledge of electronic trading systems and/or commodity options trading is a plus.
