The company is headquartered in Berea, Ohio and this position will be based in this location.Position Summary:ColorMatrix North America is looking to substantially increase the productivity and effectiveness of our laboratory functions, and the quality, manufacturability and processing ability of our products. To that end, we are looking for a technical director with substantial success improving lab processes and creating cultural change. This individual will lead the activities of the Development Group, Color Matching Lab and Sample Manufacturing, and will be responsible for laboratory activities required to introduce new products into the marketplace.Essential Job Functions:  * Improve ColorMatrix business performance by substantially increasing productivity of lab functions (number of color matches and samples per day, and pace of development projects), and by generating considerable improvements in laboratory effectiveness - increasing conversion rates of color matches and development projects, improving success rate of trials and reducing the number of iterations required to bring products to market.  * Manage consistent delivery against aggressive, market-driven development schedules for both common lab and sample requests and more involved development efforts.  * Design effective laboratory processes and drive the consistent utilization of these processes. Build consistency into formulation and product design processes.  * Continuously improve product formulations for increased quality and decreased cost.  * Work with manufacturing to increase quality, consistency and manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness within their operation through improved product formulations.  * Supervise the transfer of new products into full-scale production. Improve the processes used to launch new products into the marketplace and increase our first-time success rate.  * Work with management, salespeople and market managers to identify and prioritize Development Group projects.  * Provide technical support and assistance to sales, marketing staff and production departments.  * Visit customers to resolve issues and learn processes.  * Manage the daily and weekly efforts on all projects.  * Instill a culture of continu ...
