Description:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

* This position is responsible for leading and directing the Fulfillment and Operations function for all of Residential Mortgage.  This includes direct management of Wholesale Fulfillment Centers (six) as well as matrix management the Retail Fulfillment centers (six).  Oversees and is accountable to the loan manufacturing process, controlling "cost to produce", providing quality customer service to mortgage customers and fulfillment locations and meeting compliance and quality standards.  Provides expertise regarding strategy, operation/financial management and building organizational effectiveness/performance.  Is empowered to bind the business in all matters related to underwriting, closing and servicing of mortgage loans.  Create/implement strategy to accomplish business objectives.  Provides recommendations into long-term department and/or business line strategic plans. Formulates policies, procedures and methods which directly impact the business line and/or indirectly affect entire company.

* Additionally, this individual will manage overall resource allocation at a national level allowing for greater use of work flow from busier to slower locations, centralization of support where possible, and both cost control and service levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversees efficient and economical operations for all functions within Wholesale and Retail Operations Centers.

* Establish and implement divisional goals and objectives.

* Directs workflow of entire division, maintaining optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness while ensuring that production standards are met and maintained.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* The Wholesale Regional Operations will report directly to the National Fulfillment and Operations Manager, while the Retail centers will report into the affiliate with a dotted line to this role.  The strategy moving forward will be to have a direct line from the Retail Fulfillment centers to this role within 12-18 months post-Alignment (project reducing retail fulfillment from 15 centers to six centers completed in April 2007).  Other direct reports to this role include the Mortgage Credit manager as well as Fulfillment management roles.

Requirements:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
* Four-year degree, degree in business preferred.
* 10+ years of management or related experience.  Prior Mortgage Operations and financial services experience.
* Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt/Black Belt or other process improvement/ quality certification preferred.
* Must possess strong, strategic conceptual and analytical abilities with an ability to lead and develop team members.
* Strategic business thinking, business planning, process improvement, and change management skills required.
* Engages people, collaborative and ability to influence in a matrix environment.
* Customer/Client Focus.
* Drive for learning.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Detail driven and highly responsive with a strong initiative and drive.
* Successful history of leading, developing, and mentoring staff.
