We have an immediate position available for a Outside Sales Representative for our Des Moines, IA location.
Job Responsibilities:
Contacting new prospective customers including initial field calls and ongoing contact to develop relationships through field visits, calls & emails
Field calls to existing clients to assess the client's specific needs; educate clients on additional company products and services and recommend and sell additional services
Drive existing client sales: increase new services sold and average sales to existing clients
Follow a specific and successful program for contacting prospective clients efficiently and effectively
Handle calls and request for new business
Stay up to date in industry related developments
Increase market share month-to-month and year-to-year
Tracks all paper and electronic information regarding contractual agreements; expiration dates, documentation, customer concerns etc.
Coordinates the preparation, submission and tracking of Request For Proposals (RFP)
Completes special sales and customer service projects as assigned
Completes all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
4 year degree
Must have at least 2 years of tangible, outside sales experience; Waste industry sales experience highly desired
The ability to develop long-term customer relationships as well as retain the customer base that already exists.
Sale closing skills
The ability to demonstrate the features & benefits of a service
Personal motivation for success, creativity and a competitive spirit
Intermediate skills required in Excel, Word, Outlook. ACT, PowerPoint and MS Access experience a plus.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Must be able to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work up to 90% out of the office at client locations in the local area; reimbursement for mileage on personal vehicle is included
