DIRECTOR, HEAD OF ANTIBODY TECHNOLOGY
Primary Objective of position:
Conduct and oversee efforts to generate, chacterize and develop novel therapeutic monoclonal anitbodies.
The successful candidate will have a strongly documented track record of success and innovation in the area of hybridoma science and monoclonal antibody generation. They will be responsible for both novel approaches to difficult targets as well as rigorous attention to strategies and details relating to development. This person will be responsible for the organization and leadership of a team's activities relating to the generation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies that are expected to become therapeutic candidates. Duties will be both supervisorial and "hands on" bench work, as appropriate. This individual will be expected to continuously optimize functions of the hybridoma group in terms of efficiency, quality and scientific rigor. Major Duties/Responsibilities:
40% Generation/Characterization of novel monoclonal antibodies and hybridomas by the hybridoma group, that is under their supervison
25% Characterization of humanized development candidates, tertiary screening of antibody properties.
20% Report writing/editing, data presentation.
15% Support of in vivo efficacy testing in a varity of disease models.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
PhD. or equivalent
Experience:
10+ years hybridoma experience for PhD., or 19+ total years experience for BS or MS candidates
Special Training:
Hybridoma generation, kinetic analysis of antibody binding with label-free technologies (e.g. BIAcore or Forte Bio). Familiarty with non-murine technologies (e.g. phage and non-antibody approaches).
Skills/Abilities:
Coordination of internal and external research activities as needed to optomally support progress of multiple programs including immunization and titering of small animals, hybridoma generation, ELISA, Western-blot, label-free assay technologies, writing, editing preclinical sections of agency reports and scientific manuscripts, communication of scientic data.
