Description:
Responsible for the timely and accurate maintenance of the Sulzer Pumps (US) Inc.’s CSS accounting activities and related functions. Reviews and reconciles various general ledger account activities on a periodic basis. Applies accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepares financial reports following company policy. Direct responsibility for assigned CSS region, point of contact for account related inquiries for that region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Reconciliation and analysis of various G/L accounts as assigned, prepare journal entries as necessary to G/L accounts.
· Reconciling beginning raw-materials, WIP and finished-goods stock.
· Prepares internal financial reports for CSS and monthly cost center budget to actual reports. Assists in preparation of forecasts/budgets and other non-routine financial reports.
· Research discrepancies.
· Calculate, accrue, and analyze sales and agent commission for US and CD companies in appropriate currency. Assist in commission calculation and data collection.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
· Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
· Two years of directly related experience.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, knowledge of Cognos or Impromptu helpful. Experience with SAP preferred.
· Good knowledge of current GAAP/IAS requirements and rulings.
· Good understanding of foreign currency transactions helpful.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate account terms to a general audience.
