Critical elements of the Enterprise Systems Architect
Direct, hands-on experience with VMware, SAN (NetApp)
Very strong AD structure experience and knowledge
Experience with capacity management and planning and disaster recovery
Strong standardization experience and knowledge.
Must be a ‘do-er’ with hands on experience; willing to mentor and lead.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for defining opportunities to create business value and identifying the system capabilities necessary to realize these opportunities. Provides vision for defining overall business and systems architectural blueprint and release plan and utilizes knowledge of existing business applications, industry standards and best-practices to translate requirements into deliverables. Works closely with other IT teams to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions. Participates in overall IT planning and brings current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems. The Architect will work directly with business subject matter experts and IT groups to develop standards and polices which align with industry best practices and Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards to ensure confidentiality and integrity of SMSC information.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Identifies technology and tools to implement critical elements of the enterprise architecture. Researches, analyzes, designs, proposes and delivers solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Provides overall direction, guidance and definition of the client's technical architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy and increase operational efficiencies. Identifies solutions, builds consensus, and executes effectively through an established common enterprise architecture vision amongst IT management and IT team members.
Develops, implements, and oversees enforcement of standards associated with Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as it relates to application and data. Utilizes industry-standard best practice to enhance the security of application and data Infrastructure.
Collaborates with IT and business stakeholders to establish and maintain and communicate a technical enterprise roadmap. Interfaces across all business areas and IT organization, acting as visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects and ensuring consistent implementation and operation of current projects
Provides leadership to highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Rationalizes, maintains and evolves the application portfolio. Provides leadership in technology/system fault, performance and capacity management.
Leads in the development of and ensure governance of architecture principles and standards; create internal standards that fit the current and future needs. Develops and oversees implementation of standards and policies.
Provides technical expertise and consultation to executive leadership and business leaders. Defines metrics to measure progress and effectiveness of the enterprise architecture solutions and applications. Stays informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to advance the company competitively and protect company assets and information.
Partners with IT management and other IT team members to support enterprise architecture strategy and the execution of the enterprise architecture direction. Influences IT functional leaders towards strategic architecture strategies, standards and guidelines. Advises management of options, risk vs. cost, benefits and other impacts on Infrastructure technology solutions. Provides technical expertise and consultation to executive leadership and business leaders. Defines metrics to measure progress and effectiveness of the enterprise architecture solutions and applications. Stays informed of industry trends and emerging technologies protect company assets and information.
Interacts directly with IT experts and practitioners to identify architecture challenges and opportunities and resolves architecture issues related to systems, applications, programs and technology. Evaluates new technologies, methods or processes and make recommendations for implementation in support of improvements to service delivery, new functionality or cost reduction.
