Description:
Purpose of the Role: The Site Manager orchestrates the site resources to ensure a quality product is safely manufactured in sanitary conditions with motivated and engaged associates, within cost goals, and in sufficient quantities to meet our customers' demands. This includes providing strategic leadership, preparing the site for the future while safeguarding existing assets, providing the business with new capabilities, managing new product introductions and ultimately increasing the value and usefulness of the assets. Strong leadership skills focused on communication, motivation, inspiration, change management, associate development and business competency development are required. In summary, the Site Manager is the champion of the Five Principles of Mars, responsible for preserving and adapting the Mars culture and is the role model for the site. Principal Accountabilities Business Performance Driving "Supply" best practices and establishing standards and metrics across the site.
Developing and delivering mechanisms that develop and maintain superior functional competency
Act as the "custodian and advocate for the brands" for all products produced at the site and assume ultimate responsibility for the quality of those products.
Deliver or exceed agreed site business performance metrics in the area of cost, quality, freshness, customer service, inventory management, etc.
Environment and Culture Lead and develop a high performing team to drive the Mars culture, goals and objectives through the organization. To identify and develop associates in the leadership pipeline.
Provide leadership to ensure that the site has the safest possible working conditions and that all site associates are properly trained and engaged with respect to safety.
Support the Winning Environment by living the Five Principles and communicating our expected business environment to all associates
Communicate the Vision and Purpose of the Mars business throughout the organization
Participate on the Crisis Team as the senior manufacturing representative.
Ensure that proper procedures, activities, training, etc. are in place to protect the health and welfare of associates and the site. The Site Manager assumes ultimate responsibility for the associates and assets of the site.
Environmental Compliance Ensure that all national, provincial, and local environmental compliance requirements are met or exceeded. As the senior Mars, Incorporated representative at the site ensures that the corporation's environmental strategies and commitments are maintained and protected.
Safety Champion: Champion Strategic Initiatives to ensure all functions of the plant comply with all Food Safety Standards.
Strategy Development and Innovation Develop and implement site-based business strategies and activity plans, which support Business objectives and the segment supply strategies.
Champion the strategic development of the site ensuring the ongoing viability and continued growth and success of the site.
Champion the advancement of innovative development and implementation at the site, which will lead to competitive business advantage.
Community Involvement Establish and maintain good working relationships and environment
