We are making great progress toward inventing a new future for 3M - a future of faster growth and increased competitiveness, while continuing to deliver superior results.   You will lead search marketing for Consumer and Office (COB) brands, becoming a leader in consumer goods search marketing.  You will be responsible for the strategy, implementation and measurement of the full consumer experience with search: organic and paid search and searcher website landing page experience.  Specifically, you will:   Lead organic and paid search marketing: Actively engage in the forefront of search marketing tools, practices and technologies to establish 3M COB as a leader in search.
Manage paid search investment to meet ROI goals:  plan campaigns; implement; measure, optimize and report results.
Continuously conduct SEO (search engine optimization) analyses, report results, implement changes to improve results.
Collaborate with COB e-commerce managers to optimize search on key account websites.
Manage implementation with all search platforms and management tool suppliers.
Drive understanding of search marketing amongst COB marketers and management through best practice sharing, reports/dashboards and presentations.
Lead analysis of searcher's behavior on brand landing page and optimization of search campaign and website page to meet ROI goals: Establish key objectives for each brand landing page.
Establish financial value of key actions.
Conduct analyses and report results.
Lead changes in search campaigns (keywords, text ad copy, bids) and website content to optimize consumer action ROI..
Expectations: Demonstrate your active understanding of the search marketing industry, its major players (Google, Yahoo, Bing) and how search marketing works.
Perform website analysis, consultation and other search engine marketing services to achieve brand goals.
Demonstrate a strong focus on client satisfaction.
Give direction to remotely-situated agency partners effectively and clearly.
Effectively communicate the search marketing process to brand marketing clients.
Proactively seek information and clarification to ensure work product delivered exceeds business unit and 'greater 3M' expectations.  Work closely with other team members to understand and meet these goals.
Stay abreast of latest trends in the industry with constant research in the search engine marketing community [this is really part of the job]; implement strategies accordingly.
Develop and improve processes, policies and procedures.
Attend conferences, workshops and meetings to network with clients and colleagues and keep abreast of current information and developments in the field.
Day-to day work will involve: Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive paid search strategies and recommendations.
Ensure WebTrends Ad Director drives Paid Search Campaigns to achieve the agreed upon goals and to ensure maximum effectiveness for individual business teams.
Conduct keyword analysis/research and develop quality keyword portfolios utilizing SEM tools and resources.
Write effective ad copy that complies with search engine guidelines and integrates industry best practices as well as testing methodologies.
Forecast search campaign timelines and reporting schedules.
Navigate a variety of search analytics tools to mine the appropriate performance data (experience with WebTrends, Omniture, Google Analytics an asset.)
Create replicable, action-oriented reports, documents and presentations for delivery to business units and 3M leadership.
Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive organic search engine optimization recommendations.
Conduct keyword analysis/research and develop quality keyword portfolios utilizing SEO tools and resources.
Recommend and evaluate SEM tools as needed.
Develop recommendations for writing effective search marketing copy/meta data using industry best practices.
Develop and guide the implementation of complex SEO strategies.
Recommend optimization for various site components including copy, page title/descriptions, site architecture, filenames, etc.
Ensure that 3M site pages follow proper SEO guidelines with respect to coding and adherence to established copy/keyword best practices.
Analyze latest algorithm changes and continually modify recommendations and best practices with regards to content, links, etc.
Develop and implement quality link programs and/or directory listings.
Report on project status to interactive marketing manager
