The Excelsior College Web Content Team is seeking an adaptable, problem-solving Web Developer/Designer who has strong technical Web production skills. The Web Developer will assist with site usability testing, play a key role in all Web site redesign s, manage Web site projects through the creation and maintenance of simple and advanced templates with CSS, while integrating new site functionality using JavaScript, PHP, etc. Knowledge of current Web languages and related Web standards (HTML/XHTML/XML, JavaScript, CSS, ADA compliance, Search Engine Optimization and Web tracking) are a must. Potential candidates must also have a designer s eye and the ability to proficiently create and manipulate eye-catching graphics for the Web and Marketing departments. Proficiency with multimedia such as flash, audio and video is desired. Responsibilities: Work closely with internal IT group, internal and external consultants to resolve technical matters and implement upgrades to the Front End of Web site, providing support to Web Editors; manage Web page templates and style sheets for current and future Web site; place and manage Web tracking code for campaign and Web site reporting; troubleshoot issues reported by all Web site users; prepare multimedia and framework for Web site related projects; provide professional level client service to multiple College stakeholders with a variety of technical knowledge; assist the Web Content Director with usability testing and site redesigns (to include upgrades to Back End and Front End as well as information architecture, design, navigation and search) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Design, or relevant experience; two-three years Web development experience; an understanding of Web site usability and Web best practices; and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is congruent with national standards.
