Assignment Capsule
As the leader of the Clinical Predictive Modeling team, you will spearhead the development of industry leading predictive models in the clinical space. Your team will collect and analyze large amounts of data from disparate sources to develop and implement sophisticated predictive models that will help improve the health outcomes for our membership. You will build and manage a strong team, provide ongoing associate coaching and feedback to enhance associate contribution, competency, and performance. Specific responsibilities are as follows.
Identify and develop solutions to key strategic business problems through state-of-the-art modeling and analysis methods.
Generate actionable insights through decision centric models to help address key business issues around improving health outcomes
Build and manage a world-class predictive modeling team. Recruit and develop high-caliber staff.
Develop, articulate and implement a long-term strategy for clinical predictive modeling.
Be knowledgeable of and adopt advancements in literature and state-of-the-art quickly within Humana's applications
Act as the key analytics point of contact with internal customers requiring advanced analytics models to drive their respective initiatives
Assist in the implementation of the results of modeling and analysis through partnership with Clinical Strategy, Operations, IT and other organizational entities.
Oversee day to day operations. Achieve performance metrics for a fast paced environment.

Role Essentials
Masters/PhD. in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Informatics or Engineering.
Proven track record in providing analytical solutions to unstructured business problems using data mining and predictive modeling.
5+ years of experience in developing advanced models in a industrial setting, preferably in healthcare
Entrepreneurial with a keen analytic mind, who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Expert in statistical methods and tools (SAS Enterprise Miner)
Strong written and oral communication skills . Proven ability to effectively communicate results of statistical models to broad audience, including senior leadership
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Role Desirables
Acknowledged and visible industry expert in predictive modeling.
Author of peer reviewed publications in predictive modeling/ data mining.
Prior people management experience in managed care or health care administration.
Thorough knowledge of healt
