For more than 65 years, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social, and family circumstances. Boys & Girls Club has activley sought to enrich the lives of girls and boys that other youth agencies fail to reach. Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to ensuring that our community's disadvantaged youngers have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures as productive citizens.
JOB SUMMARY
Teaches club members to swim, maintaines student progress and recognizes achievements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development. Promotes and stimulates water safety instruction and swim program participation and participation in special events. Orients new club members to water safety instruction and swim program, special events, and opportunities as well as to club safety, program and disciplinary rules.
Recognizes club members for program participation and achievement. Maintains records to track attendance and participation. Monitors supply needs and orders required supplies through approved vendors and within budget. Educational Qualifications.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must perform basic water skills including 200+yd swim, and be able to perform various rescue techniques. Experience preferred, but not required. Effective communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. CPR/First Aide, water safety/swim instructor and lifeguard certification preferred, but not required. WILL TRAIN!
WILL CONSIDER CANDIDATES WITH RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE THAT ARE NOT CERTIFIED BUT ABLE AND WILLING TO BECOME CERTIFIED- though certified candidates preferred.
