We have an immediate need for a Network Engineer Responsibilities - This position will be part of a Network Access Management team responsible for operational management and engineering support of Firewall and Application Proxy infrastructure across a company Global network The successful candidate will be responsible for handling service requests from the Business and Technology teams, analyzing/validating the requirements, defining the access rules, Scripting the changes and providing troubleshooting support with any access issues This individual will assist with reviewing existing tools, applications and processes to help strengthen and optimize current capabilities, as well as identify any gaps or technical solutions to further enhance the team's effectiveness. Additionally, the successful candidate will support leadership with ongoing 24x7 support process, technical recommendations, documentation and reporting. Required Qualifications - Significant experience (+5 years) and demonstrated LAN and WAN expertise working with Cisco Firewalls, Routers, Switches and McAfee Enterprise Firewall Experience with WAN technologies and protocols, including best practices designs and troubleshooting. Routing protocol experience (Static, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) redistribution and summarization. A thorough knowledge of routing protocol metrics to aid in desired traffic flow. Experience working with highly available and redundant networks. Knowledge of Spanning Tree and Switching Technologies. Thorough understanding of Client/Server applications. Extensive knowledge and use of protocol analyzers (sniffers, etc.) Proven problem solver with ability to provide in-depth analysis of complex problems, manage risk and make quick decisions. Excellent presentation/verbal communication skills and the ability to train and mentor other team members. Experience in relationship management and collaboration skills with external vendor partners, technology colleagues and business partners. Cisco Certification and ITIL Accreditation preferred. Position Requirements: Designs and implements local and wide area network solutions, including security, capacity planning, backup and recovery and disaster planning. Experienced with technical architecture planning, deployment, and troubleshooting. Able to work with technical specialists in providing expertise, training and management. Analyzes business needs plus designs, implements and supports network solutions on one or multiple platforms via LAN or WAN architecture. Operates at a higher level than a Database Administrator due to specific and verifiable expertise in creating network and enterprise-wide solutions. Able to manage a team of technicians and administrators and to serve as the last level of support in troubleshooting network usage and equipment. Certifications may include Novell CNE or MCSE.
