Retail Banking Division, Part-Time 25 Hours Per Week Teller Position, Loyalsock Branch, Williamsport, PA
Basic Function:
Tellers are the "face" of M&T Bank to most customers. A customer's level of satisfaction with the bank is largely based on the quality of service they receive in our branches – from tellers. That makes the position of teller one of the most important jobs in the bank, and a great place to begin a career at M&T – one of the strongest, most highly regarded banks in the U.S.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service
Provide M&T Bank's retail/commercial customers with superior service by doing the following:
-Greet customers, build a rapport with them and thank them for their business.
-Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing.
-Help customers find solutions to their financial needs by identifying M&T products and services that can meet those needs, and referring the customer to the right person in the branch.
-Resolve routine customer problems and refer more complex issues to the appropriate person.
Bank Operations
-Assist with the "settlement" of the bank’s ATMs and the processing of deposits made through the 24-hour deposit service.
-Verify signatures and distribute cash.
-Adhere to all procedures stated in the Teller Difference policy and follow up with current gain/loss ticket documentation.
-Ensure compliance with the bank’s operational, security and control policies/procedures, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets.
General
-Achieve personal referral goals, and actively participate in branch sales promotions. -Participate in weekly sales meetings.
-Attend new hire training program, and participate in appropriate training sessions in the future.
Basic Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED.
-Minimum of 6 months customer service experience.
-Basic keyboarding skills and data entry skills.
-Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
Ideal Qualifications:
-6 months previous cashiering experience.
-Ability to lift 5lbs to 30lbs.
-Ability to stand for long periods of time.
-Proficient written communication skills in Spanish and English.
-Proficient verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
-Proficient reading skills in Spanish and English.
Hours Needed:
Week One - Mon- Fri, 10:00am-3:30pm
Week Two - Mon -Thur, 10:00am-2:00pm, Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm, Sat, 8:15am-12:15pm
