We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: - Responsible for solving major and complex engineering problems in one or more phases of a developmental project involving analysis, research design, development, fabrication and/or testing of a device or system. - Conducts the development of each assignment, coordinating engineering personnel assigned to each activity applicable to the particular assignment. - Has some latitude for unreviewed action or decision; assignments are broad in nature usually requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity. - Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. - The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates complex devices and/or systems. Conceives methods and alternatives for satisfying product goals, specifications and requirements of the project/assignment. - Performs original complex analysis and design work of system and component parts in accordance with specifications. - Designs or selects commercially available equipment, coordinates design results with other design groups; evaluates the merits of the design with higher skilled engineers and makes changes as indicated. JOB TITLE: ENGINEER, SENIOR (SOFTWARE) - Conducts independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, components, or process specifications and requirements. - Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. - Assists in preparation of bids and proposals as required. - May coordinate the work and provide work leadership to lower level employees assigned to projects. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. Five (5) years experience required. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Excellent analytical and Microsoft office environment skills required. - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts. - Data and image processing along with GUI development in a Real Time Embedded system a plus. Instrument control experience, TCP/IP and related networking skills a plus. - Technical skills such as C/C++, JAVA, DirectX, Windows-NT, Windows-2000, Windows-XP, Linux and UNIX are required TAKE ACTION!
