Position Description: The Director, Quality Assurance is a senior level Management position within the Engineering and Hosted Operations Organization. The Director, Quality Assurance reports directly to the Vice President, Engineering and Hosted Operations and is a member of the Core Leadership Team. This position is at a peer level to other Director level positions within Engineering. This position requires deep knowledge and proven success in Quality Assurance practices; strong collaboration and communication skills; an active management approach and a focus on continual improvement and innovation. Engineering primarily leverages an Agile development methodology and the Quality Assurance team fully participates throughout the SDLC Responsibilities: Management of QA Team ? Responsible for planning, organizing, coaching and driving the Quality Assurance team across all products. Owns resource planning and management of QA team including employees, contractors and outsource partners. A proactive, high collaboration management approach is required. QA Vision and Strategy ? Responsible for the establishing, planning, evangelizing, budgeting and executing on Quality Assurance vision and strategy across all aspects of QA including: overall QA and test methodology, test automation, data validation, performance and scalability testing and tools and technology selection. Product Quality ? Responsible for the design and execution of QA plans for all products. Must continually adjust to changing requirements and market factors to ensure quality of products delivered remains at highest level. Quality Metrics and Continual Maturity of QA organization - Drive quality metrics program to ensure continual improvement is measurable, objective and visible. Establishing a baseline understanding of current QA practices, levels and maturity and formulating a strategy for continual benchmarking and improvement of overall quality of products. Leadership - Active collaboration with Development, Program Management, Hosted Operations, Architecture and Product Management to meet the quality, performance, scale and feature requirements of each deployment and release. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 8+ years of quality assurance experience 5+ years in quality assurance management (2+ at Sr. level; Director or above) 3+ years of enterprise software experience 3+ years in QA role in an Independent Software Vendor (as opposed to internal IT) Multiple SaaS deployment successes while in QA leadership role Multiple Software (On premises) release successes while in QA leadership role Experience leading QA teams in an Agile product development methodology Strong technical knowledge and experience with data intensive systems Strong technical knowledge and experience with API based systems Test automation ? strategy definition and implementation, tool selection, execution and maintenance of results Metrics driven approach BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
