Job Summary The Assistant Product Manager will support the Product Managers and be a product expert for one or more product groups. They are responsible for helping support the ultimate success of their product categories which encompasses leads, sales, closing rates and profitability. Essential Job Functions • Help develop and maintain product training programs for designers and client services department • Work with internal teams to solve problems, answer questions and provide information in a fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere • Maintain current, thorough knowledge of all services and programs for all product lines • Provide weekly and monthly reports as directed. Report observed trends, critical problems and ideas for performance improvement to manager • Assure customer satisfaction. Respond to all customer service and designer inquiries made through phone, e-mail, letter, or fax within defined service levels. Escalate issues appropriately to manager. • Help maintain good working relationships with suppliers and partners (both internal and external) • Create monthly bulletins to communicate new products, promotions and price changes. • Assist in ideas and development for new samples and selling tools to increase product sell-through. • Work closely with CDI Product Managers on special projects such as initiatives to increase average sale and profitability and decrease vendor and product related errors. • Maintain acceptable standards with respect to company employment policies Education and/or Experience • Bachelors degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities • 2+ years experience working with product features and product sell-through preferably in a home décor, textiles or fashion forward environment • 2+ years experience in an office environment Job Skills and/or Abilities • Proven training development and implementation experience • Ability to speak in front of large and small groups of people • Advanced knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook • Strong communication, organizational, analytical & math skills • Analytical and creative thinking • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels with in the organization • Detail oriented • Organized, demonstrating excellent time management skills • Capable of recognizing critical, time sensitive information from the flow of routine information • Possess exceptional follow through • Able to multi-task • Able to participate and work in a team environment • Command good written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrate the highest level of customer service Job Conditions • Normal office working conditions • Exposure to computer CRT • Job may require travel • Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week • May require bending, stooping, lifting up to 35 pounds
