PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Loan Operations Manger is the front line of leadership responsible for managing a group of Fulfillment associates who perform Processing, Underwriting ,Closing and Administrative functions. The position is responsible for ensuring that all compliance and operational standards as set by the Company are maintained while productivity goals are met. In addition, the Operations Team Leader will work to facilitate the relationship with our Sales partners and support a team environment. The Loan Operations Manger is the key to ensuring efficient operations and a smooth and timely flow of work while meeting funding goals and quality requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES, SPECIFIC DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Resolve customer related problems that have gone beyond the Processors, Closers Underwriting and Administrative staff. This is done with the input of various parties involved from the branch or department.
Motivate Professional behavior and performance while guiding through example.
Coach and counsel staff for peak performance. Address and resolve issues of poor performance or unacceptable behavior. Work to determine best approach to resolve an employee problem.
Manage and monitor performance standards as to pipeline management, turn time, customer satisfaction and funding goals.
Work with Sales Managers to identify issues with applications from Sales agents, keep log in database to track agent issues. Communicate and devise solutions w/ sales managers to reduce and eliminate low quality applications.
Review internal audit and deficiency reports to identify issues and trends. Work with appropriate personnel to correct same. Develop and implement action plans to reduce error and risk.
Provide information and training to the Processors, Closers, Underwriters and Administrative Staff. Discuss changes in procedures, policies and guidelines helping to interpret and clarify their meanings and intended usage.
Analyze, suggest, develop and implement procedural changes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Manage team PTO to ensure service levels are met. Approve timecards daily in accordance with time management guidelines. Prepare and deliver performance reviews.
Perform various additional tasks as assigned.
Decision Making:
The Loan Operations Manager will guide the Processors, Closers, Administrative and Underwriting Staff as needed throughout the loan process to help them make decisions which will be in the best interest of our customer.
When making decisions, the Loan Operations Manager will need to consider the customer, other parties involved in the process, Company policies and procedures, TIL regulations, underwriting guidelines, investor and agency guidelines, marketing programs and the GMACM Compliance and Ethics Code. The Loan Operations Manger will work with the Underwriting Consultant as needed to resolve more difficult and complex underwriting problems.

This position requires at least six (6) years of experience in mortgage loan operations. Minimum three (3) years fulfillment experience or equivalent required. Supervisory experience preferred.
A high school diploma is required, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Courses in Real Estate, appraising, mortgage banking and communications would be extremely helpful.
