Description:
The Telecommunications Administrator is responsible for the planning, maintenance, support and optimizing of all telephone systems and services, voicemail and PBX communication systems. Responsibilities include: managing and administrating the entire telecommunications infrastructure, assisting with long range design plans, serving as a technical resource in recommending telecommunication solutions, engaging and directing the service of outside vendors, performing research and analyses, preparing and reviewing vendor bids, and making recommendations regarding telecommunication needs and products. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in the telecommunications field and will possess a good overall knowledge of communication system troubleshooting techniques, design, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and telephone switch operations. Experience with VoIP and ShoreTel phone system administration is strongly preferred. To be considered for this position, the candidate must be able to communication effectively (verbal and written), work well independently and as a member of a team, and have excellent troubleshooting skills. The ability to: prioritize tasks, assess problems and develop effective solutions without close supervision, work with difficult people in a positive/pleasant manner, and use good listening skills are also very important skills required for this position.
Qualifications
Education: Certificate of Completion from a Vocational/Technical School or two years of equivalent experience. Experience: None. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current Washington State driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Knowledge of: communication system troubleshooting techniques, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and telephone switch operations. Skills in: designing and developing communication systems, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all corporate levels, communication both oral and written sufficient to exchange or convey information, give instructions and receive directions, and analyze and resolve system problems. Ability to: prioritize tasks, assess problems and develop effective solutions without close supervision, work with difficult people in a positive/pleasant manner, and use good listening skills.
