Chenega CorporationJob Description Company Title: Hazardous Material Handler Chenega Title: Material Handler II Department: South, Korea (Areas II, III and IV) Reports To: Site Manager FLSA Status: Regular Non-Exempt Summary: Material Handlers are responsible for the proper storage of all Hazardous Material (HM) both inside the warehouse and in outside material storage areas, including chemical segregation, monitoring shelf life, inventorying HM, labeling HM, and material condition. Ability to obtain clearance for SOFA and Ration Card. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. • Display Total Customer Service attitude at all times; • Receipt of HM from military supply warehouse as well as excess serviceable material from various sources; • Monitor Shelf life of HM and extend as required in accordance with current directives; • Issuing of HM as directed by customer request, in an expeditious manner; • Ensure that all HM has been properly labeled with various material control labels; • Accurate locating and inventorying of HM in warehouse; • Receive empty HM containers from customers and after processing paperwork, properly disposing of containers; • Maintain a clean, safe, and neat work environment at all times; • Primary Forklift operator for the HazMart; • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe manner; • Other general tasks as assigned by the Site Supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education and/or Experience Candidate must have a high school diploma or a GED. Experience in general warehousing operations involving material receipt, storage, and issue. Must have knowledge of military supply system (preferably Army), material receipt, storage/issue procedures, and experience in loading/unloading cargo vehicles up to 5 tons, and maintain a valid Drivers License, able to receive security clearance if needed, and the ability to obtain a CDL with HazMat endorsement when/if needed. Ability to follow established procedures and carry out assignments independently, although work is primarily in an warehouse environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, incumbents may be subjected to rain, cold, bright sun etc. Must be trained or willing to be trained and qualified in forklift operations and safety requirements. Must be able to complete and pass 40 hour HAZWOPER certification or any other required training. Ability to obtain clearance for SOFA and Ration Card. Chenega Corporation is an EOE. AA/M/F/D/V.
