Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Patient Relations Representatives are responsible for patient reception and check-in, patient scheduling, maintaining physician schedules, cash collection and other administrative duties as assigned in the clinic. Work collaboratively with physicians and staff to facilitate patient care and physician efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Greet clinic patients, obtain and/or verify registration information and route patient and paperwork appropriately and efficiently. Arrive patients in Cadence, the electronic scheduling system. Collect co-pays. Prepare and attach forms to the patient medical record for use in conjunction with the patient visit. Maintain patient confidentiality.
2. Take incoming clinic phone calls, respond to routine inquiries, make appointments, update patient registration, route calls to appropriate area, take messages accurately, request medical records as needed, and appropriately follow through on requests. Answer nonmedical questions and give nonmedical information to patients within practice guidelines.
3. Schedule return clinic appointments. Check patient out. Maintain cash drawer.
4. Perform daily organizational and computer tasks per clinic protocol. Responsible for overseeing and monitoring the waiting area. Maintain patient flow and workflow; work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic. Maintain a neat and orderly waiting area and work area. Stock forms and other office supplies.
5. Route correspondence appropriately.
6. Assist with medical records, including obtaining paper records as needed, filing, etc. Assist with managed care authorizations and maintains appropriate records and references and correspondence.
7. Update MD and other provider schedules on Cadence scheduling system.
OTHER DUTIES
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 2 years experience required preferably in a doctor’s office or other clinical experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Excellent communication and organizational skills for managing workflow, follow-up on patient care, anticipating the needs of the patients and physicians, etc. Excellent customer service skills.
