Branch office of national company is looking for a Contract-to-Hire Systems Administrator III to administer hosting center systems and apps. Email-IP Telephony running on Linux and Sun Solaris servers. System analysis and development in collaboration with operational staff. Background in the Linux OS, with Linux/UNIX/FreeBSD server administration.
Complete Description:
Manages multiple Linux, FreeBSD and Sun Solaris servers ensuring proper integration of these components with existing computer systems.
Manages multiple linked databases to include security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and development and implementation of bulk data import/export procedures.
Plans and implements system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.
Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning, and develops capital and operating budget proposals.
Designs and develops advanced methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying data for input and/or retrieval.
Designs and programs specific applications in response to department needs; installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current site licenses; designs, programs, and manages websites and associated pages.
Documents the design of the operating environment
Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary.
Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
Develops and implements various training and instruction programs for users on the use of operating systems, networking, applications, and databases.
Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems May lead or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Extensive experience working with Linux/UNIX system and program installation
Required 5 Years Previous programming or scripting experience
Required 3 Years BSD operating systems ( NetBSD, OpenBSD, FreeBSD) Highly desired 2 Years Administration of SQL database servers( PostrgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)

Perl, CGI, and shell scripting
Highly desired 2 Years Backup infrastructures and system-level security procedures, and cryptography
