No third party submittals US citizen or permanent resident. Position Description: New development and maintenance of warehouse management system. Perform analysis, development, testing, and documentation on new applications and enhancements to existing applications for business clients. Current applications include Viaware, WMS, OMS, Clippership, and TraX. Function as a member of a project development team and independently for minor modifications and support. Ensure tasks are completed on a timely basis and conform to specifications/processes and standardized best practices. Responsibilities: Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for new applications and enhancements or modification to existing applications. Develop work estimates for projects. Collaborate in the creation of application and system specification documents to satisfy project requirements. Develop and code applications to specification and perform testing as needed. Participate as a member of the development team in the deployment/implementation of application solutions Collaborate with project team members and QA on development and customer issues. Provide system and applications support to users including issue resolution. Accurately repair and document changes to applications as assigned. Participate in code and design reviews and technical presentations to cross functional staff. Monitor system and application performance and troubleshoot issues. Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support of applications. Actively participates in continuous process improvement efforts. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or technical area or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. 3+ years of experience in IT solutions development preferably in medium to large corporate environments. 5 years experience in development using PowerBuilder, SQLServer, Java (WebSphere). Able to develop own specifications. System knowledge may include INFORMIX 4GL, UNIX, SQL, PowerBuilder, PL/SQL, C, C++, Korn shell, PERL, AWK, SED, and the suite of Microsoft applications. Well developed written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management. Well developed active listening, facilitation and presentation skills. Knowledge of logistics and transportation management. Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes. Basic project management skills. Well developed time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated analytical capabilities. Exposure to managing customer expectations. Ability to learn and understand functionality of multiple logistics-related systems. Ability to establish solid business relationships and work effectively with senior business and client contacts. Ability to work and participate effectively in a dynamic team environment; good communication skills (oral and written). Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people. Ability to perform 24/7 on-call duties on a rotational basis. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Experience in logistics and/or transportation management and business analysis is desired.
