Business Unit Overview
BT Operate deploys and runs communications services for cusotmers over BT's core netowrk and systems and is responsible for implementing 21CN globally.
We apply stringent standards to testing, planning, operating and monitoring software-driven services and networks. We help create consistency, improve reliability and reduce costs.
Business unit information
We take orders from the Market Facing Units and process them for customers wherever they are in the world. Service Delivery enters most of them onto our systems and manages them through to delivery to the customer, including passing them into maintenance and billing. The Service Integration team bringscomplex customers into BT e.g. those that need significant customer migration and transformation. Once in BT they become business-as-usual as soon as possible, managed by Service Delivery. Our Service Enablement team planners ensure we have enough network capacity for our customers' needs, as well as ensuring that we have enough space and power in our buildings. Our Carbon Management & Renewables team leads on reducing BT's carbon footprint, working towards an 80% reduction in our CO2 emissions in the UK by 2016. The Service Optimisation team is transforming our processes and systems, keeping us on track to deliver right first time, reduce cycle time and order backlog. Our Service Operations team keeps the Lead to Cash business unit running smoothly, including overseeing the transformation of our organisation.



Key Purpose of Role:
The role holder will provide project and account support to the GCI Configuration Team in Americas Region:
- To coordinate and allocation of configuration and technical resources to ensure that the orders aredelivered on time and to the required quality to meet Thomson Reuters and other major BT customer’s delivery.
-To be the point of contact with the other roles in GCI o address customer requirements and enquiries relating to Config Team work items.
Key Responsibilities:
• Scheduling, allocation and tracking of configuration tasks within the order workflow.
• Allocating task to Configuration Engineer and tracking progress
• First point of contact for configuration issues escalated by GSC during local business hours.
• First point of contact for escalation by Order Manager into Configuration Team.
Standard responsibilities:
• Performance reporting for the Configuration and Management Team
• Tracking of Configuration Team’s time-off, overtime, number of hours worked per week, leave and other records etc
• Main interface to global Configuration Team members
• Training resource scheduling
• New Starter setup and induction of new engineers
• Procurement of IT equipment and office supplies.
• Co-ordinate activities on behalf of project teams as appropriate
QualificationsEssential Skills & Experience (key competencies) 
• Minimum 1 year working experience in an Telecoms/IT environment.
• Advanced knowledge and use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Outlook essential
• Experience in working with SLA’s and KPI’s
• Previous experience co-ordinating and scheduling resources on project teams
• Knowledge of Trouble Ticketing Systems
• Knowledge of task / workflow management systems.
• Flexible, diligent individual capable of providing effective support as and when required.
• Present a consistent, professional image and ensure a high standard of service is delivered to the customer
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritise workload and use own initiative
Language Requirements
• English primary language.
Basis of Rating
Factors taken into consideration in assessing candidates include experience, knowledge and skills applicable to the role. There will be an element of automated ranking based upon the information enteredby the candidate; however, the final decision to interview will be made by recruiting managers.
