Essilor of America, Inc. (Essilor), is the leading manufacturer and wholesaler of prescription lenses in the United States. We currently have a Lab Operations Trainer career opportunity at our Lenexa, KS location.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is accountable for a lab training territory. Lab territory geographies vary depending on lab sizes and turnover. Ensures that lab management is capable of managing local web-based training and partners with lab management to determine the “curriculum path” for individual employees. Master certifies local trainers, as available, and/or personally trains new employees as required by a standard lab curriculum.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Completes all operation training (APEX-Optics) master certification requirements • Partners with Training Manager to determine training requirements for territory • Partners with local lab management to determine training requirements for existing and new employees • Builds and implements lab-specific master calendars • Trains local lab management to monitor new employee progress on required training and conduct final employee certification • Partners with local lab management to build individual employee curriculum paths • Certifies local part-time trainers, as appropriate • Conducts operations training using standard lab curriculum • Partners with Program Manager and Training Manager on emerging training needs and maintenance of existing curriculum • Partners with other Lab Operations Trainers to identify best practices and build deep technical knowledge • Achieves training goals within budgetary requirements
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of two years experience in full-time manufacturing training role • Bachelor’s degree preferred (business preferred) • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software Suite • Previous experience in managing change • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems highly preferred • Exposure to web-based training highly preferred • Must be open to extensive domestic travel, 30%-75% depending on territory
